Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. You may optionally provide a phone number and handicap index.

Tournament data: Tournament details, player registrations, scores, team assignments, and payment records you create or participate in.

Payment information: Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We store transaction references but never store credit card numbers directly.

Usage data: With your consent, we collect anonymized analytics data (pages visited, features used) through PostHog to improve the product.

Device information: Browser type, operating system, and IP address for security and rate limiting purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the Scramble Captain service
  • To process tournament registrations and payments
  • To send transactional emails (registration confirmations, payment reminders)
  • To improve our product based on anonymized usage analytics (with consent)
  • To prevent abuse and enforce rate limits

3. Cookies & Analytics

We use PostHog for product analytics. PostHog sets cookies to track anonymized usage patterns. These cookies are only loaded after you provide consent via our cookie banner.

If you decline cookies, no analytics tracking occurs and PostHog is not initialized.

Essential cookies required for authentication and security do not require consent.

4. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following services, only as necessary to operate Scramble Captain:

  • Supabase — database hosting and authentication
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • PostHog — product analytics (consent required)
  • Vercel — application hosting

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

5. Data Retention

Account and tournament data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data will be removed within 30 days. Anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time by clearing your browser storage

7. Children

Scramble Captain is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), row-level security on our database, and secure authentication via Supabase Auth. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting a notice on the site.
